Bidra med feedbackRed Ribbon is a reliable source of baked goods and pasalubong for any occasion. Ordered via their app. For senior discounts, they only honor one (up to 5% off) and not multiple cards like other JFC restaurants like Jollibee, Mang Inasal and Chowking. Burger King's (also part of the group) app does not offer any senior discounts and only promotes their promos for possible discounting privileges. Red Ribbon was originally put up in 1979 by Renato and Amalia Hizon Mercado at Timog Ave, QC fronting Circle Theater then. It was their daughter Teresita Mercado Moran who was the creative genius behind the success of their brand. I remember my mom would take me here often because she loved their Grilled Ensaimada with Hot Chocolate. In 1999, they started to franchise the brand. With a strong local branch network and presence in important US States, they became attractive to would-be buyers. In 2005, JFC (Jollibee Group) bought Red Ribbon from the Mercados and this extended their reach to cover the cake, dessert and pasalubong market. A few years after, Teresita Mercado Moran's family bought Amici (di Don Bosco) from Salesian priest, Fr Gianluigi Colombo to continue her passion for baking with another established brand that she could build on. They also put up Cara Mia in 2009. From Red Ribbon, I ordered the Holiday Gift Box of Ensaimadas (P390) containing 2 Ube Cheese, 2 Chocolate and 4 Original Ensaimadas, 3 Asado Roll Packs (P273 or P91 per pack) and 1 Pinipig Polvoron 8's (P85). Among the Ensaimadas, you won't go wrong with the original. During its heyday, Red Ribbon was well known for their ensaimada almost in the same manner as Hizon's though to a lesser degree because they cater to the mass market, whereas Hizon's is more upscale. Their new Ube Cheese is so subtle in flavor, you would actually find just a hint of Ube. Their Chocolate is more pronounced and I suppose would be appreciated by the young and chocolate lovers. It's made more special by the caramel filling inside introducing a creamy texture as a foil to the soft bread and solid chocolate strands. The Asado Roll is a good merienda fare at P91. The taste is similar to sister company, Chowking's Asado Siopao only this time Red Ribbon's vehicle is a dinner roll. On an aside, you should try Wan Kee Bakery's Asado Roll at P80 and see what you prefer. The Pinipig Polvoron is mild and I believe a lot of flour or fillers compared let's say to House of Polvoron or Goldilocks even. But still, great place to shop for pasalubong.
We bought cake yesterday june 28 but the cake is hard already.
You can always rely on Red Ribbon for tasty, affordable and good looking cakes. Ordered their standard cake for a birthday and its colorful toppings and festive look definitely fit the occasion. The cake was soft and the frosting had just the right amount of sweetness. For their price and taste, I think Red Ribbon cakes are a great choice for celebrations on a budget
Disappointed in the dedication because I didn't follow what was written, I'm not sure if the writer made a mistake or if he corrected my grammar, which is his corrections are wrong.. Lol.. I'm ashamed of my boss because the standard in English is high, it seems like I'm the one who's wrong
