If you are looking for a nice place for a good coffee and good old Filipino dishes in the heart of Makati, come and visit Commune. They serve fresh Filipino food, close to home cooked meals, less salt but full flavor dishes. I recommend you try their lunch bowls, it comes with homemade jalapeño, atchara, and coffee for its price it's more than what you pay for. You might consider a take out too. :

We dropped in for a late night dessert and loved the coffee and hot apple pie great vibe about the place, stylish decor.

They are all very friendly and easily approachable. They would not make you feel inferior. The place is really good, and the interiors are really made to make you feel comfy and snuggly. It's also a good place to get some focus. Food and beverages are just even as great. My favorite tho is how they made use of their space. Spot on.
