Isaac Newton's Bar Restaurant - Newtown

Went today with my family. I was told it would be an hour and a half wait. Plenty of tables all over. They couldn't seat kids in the bar area with giant booths, even though we've been in there plenty of times before. They wouldn't move two tables together. And they wouldn't even let us have two tables next to each other. Absolutely the worst management you could think of. We used to go once or twice a month for years. We even had our engagement party here. During our engagement party we were told we can't have people coming and going, and everyone needs to stay seated. I should have realized then that it was going down the tubes. Food is half decent though. And beer selection is outstanding. Go alone or with one other person, and you'll be fine. But they don't want families there.

This restaurant is NOT allergy frendly DONT GO! (I would put this at 0 stars if I could) My family and I went out for dinner here to celebrate a special occasion. We sat down and when the waiter came one of my family members asked for a gluten free menu as she has an allergy to gluten and wheat products. On the menu, it said she could order a burger without the bun which is what she ended up getting. When it came there was a bun on the burger and when asked he said it was a gluten free bun . (They don 't even have any gluten free buns in the restaurant). He said he would check with the kitchen, came back, and took away the food apologizing. He came back in less then a minute with what appeared to be the same plate of food and when asked if it was he said no it is different however, when we flipped over the burger there was bread crumbs, from the bun, all over the underside of the burger patty. When speaking with the manager she did nothing to help other than take the contaminated meal off of the check. If you have allergies please don 't go here for risk of your health and safety.

I’m so disappointed. This was a favorite place. Now… horrible. Being told I need to walk around restaurant to find out specials and what’s on tap… ridiculous. Half way through meal…. Have to hunt down someone for napkins…. Basically ignored. This used to be a great place.

Rude host, stupid rule where all people of the party (even if its 3 people total and 2 are there) need to be in attendance to sit. not worth it for what youre getting. especially because it was not busy! will not be returning.

Nothing to get excited about.Burger was ok...Korean wings were super salty. New England clam chowder was the best part of my meal. Lots of potential for improvement...even my son who brought us here said it was an off night so who truly knows and he was a fan of the place. Server was very nice.
