Bidra med feedbackSo.... just heard of this place.... Best Mozzarella Sticks ever! They're homemade!!! And.... Gluten free pizza!!! So good!! They hours are limited, but worth it!!!
Such a nice laid back vibe. We were staying in the attached condos and loved this option as an easy option to avoid a drive. The staff was so friendly, the food was good, and the drinks were heavy pours! We came back a second night cause the kids loved the pizza so much!
Very clean, well decorated, and nicer than we expected. We ordered chicken cutlets for our appetizer and for our entrees we got pepperoni pizza, cheese ravioli, and chicken marsala. All our dishes came out very fast and tasted delicious. The chicken was perfectly breaded and tender, the raviolis were al dente and perfect, and the pizza was a good size and cooked nicely. I would 100% recommend this restaurant to anybody in the Sunday River area.
Last night was a complete disaster. Wife and I sat at the bar, no other patrons in restaurant. Ordered a Manhattan and the bartender didn't know how to make it. I told him the ingredients and all he could find was whiskey, none of the extras. Wife ordered salad, me chowder. About 1/2 hour later the chowder arrived and wife was told they had to send out to get lettuce. Chowder was ok but send out for lettuce??? I looked at the bar stock and finally found the vermuth and bitters.More than another hour passed and still no food. At this time we told staff cancel order, we were leaving. They tried to get us to stay and said food is just being plated. We left. 1 hour and 45 minutes to wait no way.Too bad but can you imagine what will happen when it gets busier. It's early in the ski season, but they shouldn't have opened until ready. Will we return- probably not. Full disclosure, the hostess wouldn't let us pay so we left a decent tip anyway.
Must admit he has weird hours, but as someone who has lived here for about 10 years I can strongly stand by the claim that Franks has the best food in the area by far. I will be honest and say that in the past I was turned off by the idea of franks because of the unfocused idea of serving both American and Italian plates. However, having now actually tried it, and had it a few times, I am definitely pleasantly surprised. Don’t be turned off by the admittedly awkward setup and smaller crowd because the friendly and welcoming atmosphere far outweighs it all. The service is fast, efficient and cordial. I truly can’t say enough about the chicken parm, it is just about one of the best I’ve ever had, but I can confidently say that I’ve yet to have a bad experience with any of the food I’ve had there. All the food is outstanding, including the raviolis, fries, and chicken scaloppini. It’s consistently good and a hidden gem at Sunday river. Keep an open mind and I promise you won’t be disappointed!
