Royal Hen - Newport Beach

They are just open for three days or so, they only have a limited bar snacks menu for now, but everything was spectacular. My friends and I shared an order of Lamb Samosa - perfectly prepared and baked with good flavors, good spices, but nothing hot or overwhelming. We also ordered a Lobster toastia (a mini-mum roll) that we all shared... delicious. We also have the Haggis balls that are not to Haggis-ish, just remembering, presented more like a Hush puppy, filled with potato and cheese, and haggis peeking out the background. The drink I ordered, the old figure, was quite delicious, imitating an old-fashioned, but with more influx. It was great! Not too sweet, what I was a little afraid of when I ordered it, but all the flavors were balanced and the ingredients played well with each other. Your wine list is excellent, which is refreshing to see. They carry many small production wines to be paired with food. If I see a wine listed in a restaurant that can also be found at a gas station, I feel disappointed, and that happens more often than not, but I degress. Anyway, great wine list. DONT MISS the foie Macarons that are light and airy in texture and weight, but very on taste. So velvety and savory and just a little sweet, and delicious. Everything works well. We ordered it twice. Tops was also the chicken skin (basically prepared like pig cattle) with sauces above, which were amazing. Much taste in a little bite. I'd have had ten of them. When my friends and I shared the court, I was secretly planned after dinner and we all said our farewells to come back and order another dish of the Chicken skins only for me. But after dinner we crossed the street and got Dessert (doughnuts for my friends and a Balboa bar for me)... but I'm back!

The man has become our new place. You can have a nice dining table evening or chicken pot cakes and fish and chips. Atmosphere, Balboa Island, comfortable casual. You should go.

Great food, well-known and friendly staff... loved it with all the windows wide open, so a pretty place for dinner.

I love this place! Every time I go, I love it. The food is delicious, the wine is wonderful, the ambience is perfect!

Amazing atmosphere and great pub food! Get the cheese and meat platter
