Bidra med feedbackThis is a great spot if you are out on the water and you want some delicious seafood. Nice cocktail, great glass of wine . If you go on the weekend, just remember the service is a little bit slow . And you really must make a reservation . Plenty of parking in several different lots around the area. And if you do go have their oysters, they really are quite tasty.
I came here for a friends birthday brunch and we had a blast! They offer bottomless mimosas for $25 when you order an entree. The staff is super helpful and friendly and you can't beat the water front views and the outdoor patio has plenty of warmers for chilly nights. For food, I ordered the machaca burrito in a bowl. It was good but it lacked a lot of flavor. We shared the banana foster French toast and it was amazing but it was too sweet as a standalone dish.
I will start off by saying that I have been coming to The Cannery since I was very young and it has been a consistent restaurant we venture to when we're in Newport for the summer. The vibe downstairs is classy without being too fancy and you can go upstairs when you wanna get rowdy and have some good happy hour. This visit we were here for my nieces 1st birthday which she was so happy. She's usually a picky eater, but she was enjoying each dish we ordered. We started off with the tuna tartare, crab cake, oysters, and clam chowder. The tuna tartare was fresh and had the perfect amount of kick with the perfect amount of kick to it. The crab cake was so good, usually I'm not a big crab cake eater because all of the filler, but this one was just crab cake. The sauce on it was an avocado crème fraiche which was so tasty and paired well with the dish. Clam Chowder is a staple at most restaurants, but this one was so tasty. I can say I'm one that orders clam chowder at most restaurants I visit. A lot of places aren't necessarily fresh and this one didn't have the fishy taste that I've had often. It wasn't too thick nor runny. The oysters, well they're oysters haha. They seemed very fresh and tasted good. I wish they provided a mignotte rather than just horseradish and cocktail sauce. For lunch I had the a wedge salad and the lobster corn bisque. I'll start off with the wedge salad, I am not usually one that likes blue cheese dressing as I prefer a ranch dressing on my wedge. The blue cheese dressing they had must of been homemade because it was really tasty. The lettuce was very cold which I wouldn't usually prefer, but it was a little warm today. It was over all a great salad. Next, I had the lobster corn bisque which was different, but pretty good. The consistency of the soup was pretty thick and I liked it, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Lastly, we had key lime pie and chocolate cake for dessert. They were very generous to bring baby Ryley a chocolate cake complimentary for dessert. She was mind boggled by the candle which she actually blew out. The key lime pie was chilled and it was honestly the best key lime pie I've ever had. I can't remember the servers name, but she was amazing. She had a great personality and was making us all laugh. Love when someone has a sense of humor. She was very accommodating with my sister's soy allergy letting us know what items contained soy. I'll continue to come to this place until the day that I die. Love The Cannery!!!
The best happy hour in Newport! Always busy so make a reservation if you want a table. Upstairs is where everyone socializes and it gets crowded but it's like the best party! Downstairs is quieter and calm if you like that better.
Came to this restaurant with a group of work colleagues. A few of us had the surf and turf and a variety of appetizers. Mine was delicious! The service was great, and the view of the harbor was impeccable.
