Bidra med feedbackReally one of the best places to stop eating in Newport on the dock! Breakfast, lunch or dinner. Especially if you are a coffee lover, her is a must. Hearty and fresh, her shell chowder is beyond delicious! Breakfast sandwiches, cornish pasties, grilled salmon tacos, biscuits gravy, bay shrimp ceviche... they offer a delicious selection of dishes. We repeat customers, and everything is always incredibly excellent! From their use of fresh food and plate presentation amazing flavors, to their super friendly customer service, The Coffee House in Newport on the Kai is highly recommended!! Five stars!
This incredible restaurant offers the best quality and quantity of food we have experienced in the Newport area. The service was the most friendly and the food was fresh, delicious and hot. Did I mention that the view of the port was incredible? They serve you coffee in huge, double-sized 16 Oz coffee cups, like the old largest A
I really wanted to like this place. But to be honest, with all the good restaurants in Newport, I probably won't be back. Pros: The service was great. They were very friendly and welcoming. It is a sweet cozy little restaurant with a great view of the ships in the port. You have a good coffee. Negative: I was not impressed at all by the food. My husband and I both had the convicted cattle ****. Although not sure you can call it hash, as the beef has been served in a flat bowl with peppers and onions with land potatoes on the side. To be fair, we could have mixed everything together. The cured beef was tender, but the taste came mostly from peppers and onions. The potatoes were good, but my average eggs were boiled over. The real problem came with the cookies and gravy I ordered on the page. The biscuit was so heavy and dense, it was almost impossible. I couldn't cut it with a knife. The engraving, while not bad, only absolutely no taste. I had to put a ton of salt and pepper on it. So while I wouldn't say don't go here, I would recommend it for a sweet little place to get a hot coffee on a cool day. It could have been a free day. But the service was very good and it is really a nice little place with a great view.
We chose this charming coastal restaurant on recommendation of several locals, and it is a highlight of our trip! We cannot stop thinking about the delicious food, and I appreciated the friendly service during the busy Sunday breakfast atmosphere. Our waiter was so personal and accommodating! I was so impressed by the options on the coffee board, and we were expertly focused on drinks that were what we hoped. We chose both medium-sized 16oz latte and they came from fluffy and hot! We couldn't finish them, but we had thoughtful papers for our remaining drinks. I chose the Wild Mushroom Omelette and it was loaded with beautiful mushrooms and covered with creamy mushroom sauce! The texture was amazingly fluffy and soft, honestly the best omelet I ever had! The potatoes were crispy and fluffy and well seasoned? The chicken fried steak was amazingly tender and well made, with a perfect land engraving! The French children's toast plate was a good size for children and the French toast was loaded with vanilla and cinnamon! The one mild thing that didn't impress me was the cookie, it wasn't as tender as I was hoping, but honestly I wasn't complaining because it still tasted good. Total 10/10! We want to come back to Newport to try the lunch menu! I would drive the 21⁄2 hours to eat every meal here on a weekend getaway!
Foods and customer service are the best. They are so super friendly (you'll be surprised) and I have tried many restaurants on the coast but this one makes me feel this is the best food that I have ever eaten. Recommended.
