Bidra med feedbackStaff exteriors and an cafe interior that makes you want to stay for a while. I wasn’t on this occasion but was still treated well and was served a creamy dreamy latte to take away. Whether you’re here for a while or take out with a smile Enjoy
Lovely quiet cafe for good drink, weather your relaxing with a friend, studying or reading having time to yourself. this is easily the best tea house in Newcastle with so many various flavors of tea. I was in tea heaven.
Went here for breakfast and coffee. Food and coffee was really nice and good sized portions. Staff were friendly and service was very efficient! Also picked up some cakes to take home which were super tasty and huge slices! A little cramped in with tables, I have a young baby who I was carrying and it was a struggle getting through the main seating area. We were sat up in a separate area which felt a bit like a corridor to the kitchen.
Came solo for brunch on a Sunday. Lovely spacious cafe, busy on a Sunday morning. Great selection of bagels, I had the maple bacon with cream cheese. Very good quality. I was advised that I could just stay for an hour which was fine as I was alone (and was told when the hour was up) but not much use if you’re with friends/having a catch up. Service was a bit abrupt. Potential to be an excellent rating but I see the person who has reviewed had a similar experience so think it’s something they need to reconsider.
I was excited to see QB has rebranded and reopened but unfortunately my experience today was regretful. My sister and I ordered a breakfast option and two teas. As we sat, the tea house slowly filled up which is to be expected. What I didn’t expect was to be kicked out roughly an hour later by the manager when a group of 3 came in looking for a table. Bear in mind, we were not the first people to arrive, I still intended to order more tea and we were a party of two at a small table near the entrance. If the manager was so intent on creating space, it would’ve made more sense to request a group of 4 (there were 2 which had been there longer than us) to leave— although of course, I don’t condone kicking anyone out. People at the tea house are accustomed to waiting and it’s perfectly acceptable to tell people a wait time too. I told the manager I intended to order again and she insisted that people were only allowed to stay for an hour and a half (a completely made up rule I’ve never heard of for a tea house— and besides we weren’t forewarned of this when we were first seated). From the beginning she had very stand off-ish energy and was patrolling the tea house much more like a bodyguard than a manager. I’m not sure if there was an element of discrimination in her decision to remove us but either way the experience was embarrassing and upsetting. I will say, the tea itself was excellent and the rest of the staff were lovely.
