I went here on a Thursday at about 6:30pm. My friends and I are studying abroad in this country and therefore have foreign ID's. We went to order alcoholic beverages and were not allowed to have any because our ID's were not from this country even though we are all over 18 and the ID's are valid. We have never had this issue anywhere else. We also tried to order three dishes and they had ran out of them. The service is also very slow. Overall it was a very unpleasant experience for us.
This is a large pub near the haymarket that has always got great offers on drinks. The food is well priced and arrives quickly and there is something for vegetarians. The best deals in this place are the pitchers. The toilets are clean. It has comfy sofas in one corner to sit down and chat and has tvs to watch. It is a good starting off place for when you are on a night out or a good place to get a drink after shopping or work on the way home
This restaurant is a great option for students on a budget, as both the food and drinks are very cheap. It's one of the few places in Newcastle where you can get a bottle of wine for just five pounds! However, be cautious as it tends to attract a questionable crowd, so make sure to keep a close eye on your belongings. The toilets leave something to be desired, but considering the affordability of everything else, it's understandable. The atmosphere can be a bit dim, especially at night, and finding a seat can be a challenge. My only complaint is that they frequently run out of Sunday lunches.
