Agave Mexican Bistro - Newburyport

The Mexican food at this restaurant is unimpressive and flavorless. There is nothing positive to say about this place- it seems like the high ratings must be from people who are unfamiliar with authentic Mexican cuisine. Both me and my partner have been feeling ill since eating here tonight- nothing we were served tasted fresh. I would not recommend eating here! While the food was good here, wait staff automatically brought chips and salsa at the beginning without mentioning that there is a charge for those items. While it’s printed on the menu, one might not know that until seeing it later on the menu. Please ask your staff to ask guests in advance if they would like chips, and explain that there is a charge. This is the only restaurant that seems to charge for chips and salsa. They also currently seem to have a problem with bees in the outdoor eating area.

Dining in for dinner at this restaurant will cost you between $10 and $20 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all scored a perfect 5 out of 5. Recommended dishes include the Street Tacos, Nachos Supreme, Chips and Salsa, Nachos with Chicken, Guacamole, and Churros. Vegetarians will be pleased with the options available. Highly recommended overall.
