Captain Jake's - Newburgh

Excellent fresh seafood. Wings are to die for. Fish tacos are amazing. Excellent customer service. Served in a timely manner. Only gripe was my surf and turf steak was a little overcooked. But overall an excellent experience and highly recommended.

I took my family here for my daughter's birthday. 4 out of 5 of us love seafood, and we're very excited. We were able to make a reservation for a Saturday at 6pm and were seated promptly when we arrived. The service and food were both excellent. Wesampled fresh oysters and tried the smoked trout appetizer (highly recommend you can all share whole fish for $12.95 it'sawesome). We ordered 4 different seafood entrees and a ravioli special. Everything was spot on. The spacing betweeneverything wasn't rushed and we really enjoyed a great meal together. Well done Captain Jake's!!

I had five Wild Goose oysters and five Blue Point oysters, and I definitely preferred the Wild Goose oysters for their freshness. The shrimp are consistently cooked to perfection, and the calamari is excellent too. It paired wonderfully with my bourbon orange spice drink, made with my favorite Bulleit Bourbon. I highly recommend this place! Cheers and enjoy!

**Drinks:** My boyfriend ordered a tropical mule with pineapple and enjoyed it so much that he ended up having three! I chose a strawberry basil lemonade, which was refreshing. **Dinner:** He had the linguine fra diavolo and polished off every single bite, which is unusual for him as he typically avoids pasta. I went for the salmon with broccoli and a potato croquette. It was delicious, and the croquette was the highlight—crispy on the outside and filled with tasty mashed potatoes on the inside. **Dessert:** We decided to take dessert to go. I warmed up the walnut brownie for about 20 seconds before indulging, and it was absolutely delightful! We will definitely return for both the food and the beautiful views.

This place was an absolute delight! It’s a popular local hangout where it seemed like everyone knew each other—except for me. The service was excellent, especially considering how busy it was. The oysters were perfect, and the surf and turf was delicious.
