South Barbeque Restaurant - Newark

Waitresses were extremely rude!!!! ignored us when we first walked in didn’t even acknowledge us until we came into the front. they were talking the entire time to each other and waited so long for our food. i never write reviews but this is my first time ever and they need better waitresses.

Actually closed when we got there so time on door doesn't reflect their hrs of operation can't really say if food is great or not.

Called to make an order. Servers started laughing and joking over the phone. Never took my order seriously.

I have been coming here for years but service seems to be getting worst and worst. Before writing this review I noticed I'm not the only one that has noticed. Also the 20% gratuity automatically added to every check, so how are the servers supposed to be motivated to provide a good service when they know their tip is guaranteed. Super disappointed my family and I used to love coming here. Today we had our usual 1/4 chicken with ribs combo which was great, but we were not greeted properly. Server left the table without us finishing our order ignoring the kids orders. Everytime we needed something we literally had to walk over the register and ask for it. Every part of the service was horrible hopefully the owners start noticing a pattern.

The food was amazing the steak was really good and the rice was really good too I would go back again
