Bidra med feedbackOrdered on the phone for pick up. Dinner was very good except I asked for medium spicy and it was crazy spicy. I called my parents who agreed as we all ordered medium and it was very spicy. It was flavorful. The shrimps were small but there were certainly enough of them. I think I will order mild next time just hope that is flavorful enough. Both garlic and regular nan breads were yummy
We normally order Vegetable biryani from here, it is good in taste compared to other biryanis being served in Delaware i like thier gravy and raitha which they give along with biryani) , there is currently no dine in due to covid, they are pretty fast to deliver after we order. Tried their started veg manchurian it was also good. Onky thing that has bothered me since the last visit is that, they said vegetable biryani was 23 with cash with card it is 25 , shouldn’t it be the same.
We’ve been coming here for years and it’s always a great choice when you’re in the area : we ordered the chili chicken which was pretty good gobi manchurian which we thoroughly enjoyed. You can’t go wrong with their biryani wish they provided shorba though. We also ordered the bullet naan for the first time which was a nice change to the usual garlic naan (which is delicious by the way . We also ordered the Chettinad chicken curry for the first time which was really good. Ambience and service could definitely be improved, but food is good. Overall recommend Biryani City :
Surprisingly good! Even shockingly good! Was stranded in Newark, DE. Bought a beer about 9pm at a university area wine store. The cashier was a lovely Indian university student whom I asked for a recommendation for a late dinner. She suggested two and Biryani City was closest so we went there. It was not fancy in the least, which in my book may be a plus since you can’t eat ambiance. Being a big Indian food fan since 1966 in NYC -area including Jackson Heights and NJ including Jersey City and Edison. I am always disappointed whenever I try outside my familiar locations. However, I had a special goat curry that I never had before and it was super superb! The very energetic and friendly chef/owner said their Biryani is their signature dish and I plan to try it if I ever get back to Newark. DE. Ironically, elsewhere in Delaware, I went to a copy center and asked the Indian owner if he could recommend an Indian restaurant. He said nothing good in the area but if I ever go to Newark, DE, he said Biryani City is the best. He said order the Biryani!!!
We just moved to Delaware and tried this restaurant (take out) multiple times in the last few days. I can vouch for their Biriyani, which in my opinion is the best biriyani in the US that I’ve tried. Also, the Fish Apollo is to die for! Definitely worth a try!! The prices are very reasonable too.
