Barcade - Newark

Can never go wrong with old school games with friends. Old style arcade with food and drinks is definitely a chill vibe. You can come here alone but it's better with friends. I've been to the one in Jersey City and Brooklyn and they all essentially have the same vibe. They switch up some of their menus, I believe when the seasons change.

I am a lifelong gamer and love bar arcades. Barcade Newark has a large variety of retro arcade games and pinball games. The prices to play the games are very reasonable. Most older games are only one or two tokens to play. The staff did a good job of intermittently cleaning the machines. However the token machine only takes cash. Not the worst thing considering how overpriced card based arcades work. The food options are good for a bar arcade but are not necessarily gourmet. I appreciated that they had vegetarian food options! They have a strong draft beer selection and also offer a lot of happy hour food/drink combos. I will definitely be back to play, drink, and eat!

Bartender Tatiana was amazing she was very kind and allowed my partner and I to sample some cider before making a purchase. Also the appetizers (buffalo cauliflower) was delicious. The games are really cheap 50¢ a game. Atmosphere, vibe and choice of music is a wonderful place for a intimate date.

Amazing spot ,great vibe, delicious food , Fantastic staff and the drinks are good. FYI THEY DO NOT HOST FAMILY NIGHT but the one in jersey city host once a month . Please call to confirm Time and day. Serving food stops at 11 pm ID must be shown at the front before entering the bar .

This is a great place to get REALLY GOOD bar food... A variety of drinks and unwind with nostalgic games. The pizza is phenomenal... They've got great wings, but then if you love pickled food, they have a platter of pickled hops shoots and other veggies. That's right a bar that not only servers beer with hops in it but they will pickle you some hops with cauliflower, turnips, string beans, and red peppers! Just delicious.
