Totally worth the efforts. The restaurant week menu is for lunch only, 45 for two courses and extra for dessert. For lots of the main course choices it would?ve cost 40 if order à la carte so definitely a great deal. You can taste the ingredients are very fresh and good quality. The seasoning was perfect to elaborate
The Bar Room, at the Modern (2 Michelin stars), offers a pretty good deal for restaurant week lunch menu. Overall, the food is pretty good. The ravioli is interesting. The mushroom is torched, I believe, making it a little crispy and smoky. The chicken has a hint of truffle, but I don't really taste any foie gras. The salad is a little too sour for my taste but it is still yummy. Tarte flambee is really delicious! The dessert is probably my least favorite a little tangy, and
The good reviews were definitely made by their own staff. The menu doesn't have anything to offer, the vibe is nothing special, and the staff... All made the WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had in NYC! Look at the oysters below, you get something better than this anywhere, and you don't have to pay $30 ????
What an exceptional and inspired dining experience! The food is a delight for sophisticated palates with flavors that are innovative yet comforting and familiar at the same time. The service is truly extraordinary and thanks to Vanessa and the team at The Bar Room at The Modern for making us feel like guests instead of customers. Can?t wait to return!
One of the best meals I have ever had in my life. Everything was amazing, from the quality of the ingredients, the amazing flavors combinations that my tongue and nose perceived for the first time and amazing presentation. Staff were also really friendly and helpful. We dined at the Bar room which has an a la carte menu. Our favorite dishes were the hamachi (high grade with tons of fat) sour melon, foie gras stuffed chicken, scallops and the sorrel ice cream. The other two desserts were also exceptional and we were very impressed.
