Bidra med feedbackFinally a Japanese spot that doesn't all about sushi! all sides are vegan and many other dishes too. I love it, the page samplers chose 5 for 14, because it is a teller full of delicious sweetness that they don't get the most places. all sizes are on the smaller side, so they do not leave completely filled, but still satisfied.
I finally found a Japanese restaurant that isn't solely focused on sushi! They offer a variety of vegan sides and many other dishes as well. I enjoy ordering the side sampler (pick 5 for $14) because it's a plate of tasty veggies that you don't typically find at other places. The portions are on the smaller side, so you won't leave overly full, but still feeling satisfied.
I visited Gohan-ya, which is the same restaurant as A Lovely Day, and ordered their salmon dinner with two sides. The meal tasted like something I could easily make at home. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The only downside was that they only accept American Express or cash, so I had to use the ATM inside the restaurant.
The food was terrible! It was awful and a complete disaster. It was a culinary nightmare that I would never recommend. The place was also very dirty and smelled like something had died. Additionally, they copied the name of the previous restaurant, "gohan."
Nice waiter but this google listing is just fully inaccurate and should be taken down. Gohan-ya no longer exists as a restaurant. None of the pictures or reviews here reflect reality, because Gohan-ya has been taken over by Lovely Day which serves tasty Thai food, but disappointing Japanese food on a small side-menu titled Gohan-yaI came here for some Japanese comfort food (the curry that gohan-ya was known for) and was given a runny broth with sichuan peppers and a fork to eat it with. It wasn’t awful but certainly wasn’t what was advertised or something I’d ever order again. Also they only take cash or Amex here
