Vesuvio bakery on Prince Street has been serving pastries for 102 years. The Mafia used to frequent it.

Cute place but the last couple loaves of bread I have bought have been stale.

One star is one star too many.This bread store now has started charging tax on bread. On bread!I don’t mean a sandwich being taxed. I mean a loaf of bread.This is illegal. Bread is not taxed.Since the law does not allow taxes on bread, it means the owner does not have to declare the ‘tax” they are collecting from us. So they pocket the money.This is basically — theftA disgrace. This location has been a bread store for over 100 years and never did it hustle its customers.Shame.

This place is cute, but not my fave. The selection is pretty small and only two tables outside. I tried the lemon poppyseed muffin, and it was too spongy (and almost salty? for my taste.

Excellent service! the pistachio cruffin and the soft serve gelato were amazing and brought me back for more.
