Two Lizards Mexican Grill - New York

I can?t count how many times I have been to Two Lizards both lunch and dinner. Every time the food is delicious, and the service is prompt and always with a smile. The prices are appropriate for a Mexican restaurant in NYC and the UES. Even tonightas I sit here near closing with this amazing elote, rain pouring down, and empty restaurant, the staff is super friendly andwelcoming. One of the best Mexican restaurants in the city!

My girlfriend and I come here for date night like once a month, 100% for the fresh guacamole...these guys are pros. atmosphere is not too intrusive, just mellow and classic Mexican themed. drinks are nice, well-balanced. service is polite andpleasant. Edit: 7 months later, we still have a great time here every time. Chorizo tacos are probably my favorite main courseat this point ????????

I hear it's closed. Such a shame! Heard a rumor that they were seized by the Marshalls...

The food at Two Lizards was really good. I loved the chicken quesadilla. The guac and my skirt steak were both on point. They appear to be known for their margaritas... I was not impressed; it was OKAY, nothing special. The service was initially WHACK. The staff seemed completely overwhelmed; there were two waiters doing everything... So much so that we were ignored for about 20 minutes while they attended people who arrived AFTER us. I spoke to a manager, and then we started getting acknowledged. Will I return? Probably not.

One of my favorite happy hour spots! The catch is that you have to sit at the bar for the happy hour prices, but if you get there early enough you'll definitely get a seat. And for the $5 drink specials, it's worth it. They have happy hour Monday-Friday and the time frame is pretty generous. I loved coming here after work with friends. They give you chips and salsa for free at the bar, but I've ordered their guacamole too and it's really tasty! I've been here once or twice for dinner/lunch and the food is pretty decent, but mostly I come for the atmosphere and the drinks specials. Manuel used to manage the place for several years and he was so friendly. He knew my name and always greeted me with a smile. I've since changed jobs so I'll miss this place but I'll definitely visit when I'm in the area.
