Bidra med feedbackThis was our second visit to the restaurant but first time for dinner and it was better this time. 10/10 butter chicken and dal makhani. We also immensely enjoyed the desserts and drinks, some of the best I’ve had in any Indian restaurant in the city (and I’ve been to a LOT of them).
Very average Indian restaurant, with exotic-looking menu and that’s where it ends. This place has an average service and below average food flavors and taste. Both the presentation and the taste was missing.Don’t see any rationale for Michelin.Service staff has limited knowledge of the menu and or the service standards expected in a Michelin rated restaurant. They forgot to bring part of the order and did not bother to check on it either. Although they did not forget to charge it to the bill.Definetely not a New York top restaurants, won’t get there. Poor experience, absolutely not worth repeating.
SONA is one of our favorite places to eat or grab drinks in NYC. The food is always excellent and the service and vibe are always on point. We love the gin cocktails, the shrimp koliwada, the lamb chops, the fish curry, the butter chicken — we mix up our order every time and always leave satisfied. We’ve recommended SONA to many friends and have gotten rave reviews and thanks every time. Highly recommended.

One star just because of service. Food was amazing but the experience was not, the server was rushing to take the order and then just vanished didn’t come back for anything else, we had to ask someone for the dessert menu and cutlery . They were having a New Year’s party in the same area as the dinner and that was so rude because it was so loud and we just wanted to have a nice quiet personal dinner but we couldn’t even talk because of the music it was like a club but that’s not fair to the people who are just there for dinner. Again the food is very nice but it’s not a fine dining experience because of the service and the people working.
