Bidra med feedbackI'm really surprised it's taken me so long to write a review of Sake Bar Satsko (202 East 7th Street between Ave. B C), particularly because I live across the street seem to spend a lot of time eating drinking there. It's a tiny sliver of a place
This restaurant provides a cozy and intimate setting to enjoy drinks with friends. The staff is very knowledgeable and offers a wide variety of sake options. The decor is lavish and creates a moody ambiance that is perfect for a night out. The space is quite small, making for a cozy and intimate experience.
I’ve been holding out on this review for over a year because I’m greedy and want to keep this hidden gem a secret to myself, but this place deserves a review! First off, it’s a 25 seat joint. You walk in and it feels like the back streets of Tokyo: tiny, dark, chill. Perfect spot to bring a date or an old friend! There’s a copious amount of sake to choose from and they’re all delicious! If you’re not too well versed with sake, not to worry, all the bartenders here know their stuff. Food is great too, the type of comfort food your Japanese aunt would make if you rolled into her flat late at night after consuming too much sake. But to be fair, it’s real yummy when sober too! Highly reccomend the chicken karaage, Berkshire sausage, gyoza, and spicy tuna onigiri. They go great with a few glasses of sake, or better yet, a sake bomb. This place is so small and intimate that if you stay long enough, you’ll brush shoulders with some of NYC’s coolest and most eccentric individuals. Highly reccomend visiting this place, and don’t forget to order the karaage!
This restaurant is incredible, with an excellent variety of sake and delicious small plates.
The food at this restaurant is excellent and they have a great variety of sake to choose from. However, be prepared to wait a bit for your food so it's not the best option if you're in a hurry. The curry rice is satisfying and tasty. I suggest ordering a snack to enjoy while you wait, the squid and karaage are both delicious and pair well with sake.
