Nice old fashioned pizza place with table service and extras like heroes and pasta dishes.Their panini are actually little sandwiches made on oversized garlic knots don't miss them.
“A sanitary grade” holder Pizzeria/Trattoria serves great Italian dishes. It's a great venue for lunch and a quick bite. They have a huge selection of hot and cold-cut sandwiches, pasta, pizza, and other traditional oven-baked meals. I tried a Veal Parm sandwich and Calzone with sausage. Both were good. Portions are quite a descent and one item from the menu should be enough for lunch, which makes the place quite affordable as well.Though Don Filippo is since 1980 it was a big surprise and recent great discovery for me. I noticed that they have a lot of frequent customers and kids. It's a place where I will definitely return.
It's a pizza place, your experience will depend a lot on what you order. The margarita and grandma are really good. The counter staff is friendly but if you want wait service probably go somewhere else. There is a small outdoor area with 5 or 6 tables that would seat 4 to eat at, and it is covered.Pizza is is roughly 4 to 6 bucks and beer is 6 to 8 you can get pizza and a beer for two for around $30 which is not to bad.Wheelchair accessibility: first floor but narrow
Although you never know it from the outside this is one of the finest restaurants in Manhattan. My family has been coming here for years but I recently had a full dinner inside at a table. The quality of service including the bread the water and everything else before we even got started makes this place special. Come late in the evening when it's not too crowded. They are specials particularly the Phil salad is just amazing. The price of the food although higher than it used to be is still one of the few affordable dinners on the upper east side. Of course the pizza is tremendous particularly the white slice but by all means, often try everything.
