This is one of the very first CASH ONLY restaurants patronized that does not take bank cards. When making the reservations earlier this evening whomever spoken to, mumbled something over the phone unintelligible to make out whatever said?? So,presumably did not take heed. Then waited for my colleague to arrive and head over to this restaurant for the 7:30 reservations.Upon arrival I moseyed into the main dining area where we were greeted and asked if the reservation was indoors or outdoors? Itwas indoors. There was a larger table directly across from ours with up to 17-18 hospital employees dining. An admixture ofChinese-Americans, East Indian fellows, Hispanic, and a few other decisively ethnic Caucasian males and females all seatedtogether in a conference styled manner facing one another—at the tables pulled together. It wasn’t long after we werefinally settled in and had ordered wine that there was this unmistakable chatter led by one of the young ladies leaning overstating « He’s a man? Right? » « No. He’s a Man who identifies as a Woman … » and the Chinese doctor in hospitalscrubs chimed in to confirm their seance, about this individual. Of course seated as closely as we were overhearing the entireconversation, word for word per verbatim. It obviously smacked of true ‘heterosexism’ given the age distributions betweenthese young ladies discussing that relevance (23-29), and the males anywhere from (24-29) at most. Very mature for their age andintelligence, yet what was so defining that it helped identify how consensus among those within a «unionization » cansociopolitically conjure up make-believe responses and clear cutting facts as if it were in fact undeniable. We waited over an hour for our food to come out they had 1 server for 28 tables. They brought out some bread after we had been waiting about an hour the bread was cold and soggy. The white anchovy appetizer was good, and the house made fresh pasta wasas well. The shrimp pasta sauce had a nice flavor, nothing exceptional and a bit oily. The bolognese tasted more like a plainmeat sauce no richness to the flavor at all. Certainly not worth the wait probably a 3 to 4 star review had the servicebeen acceptable.

Small and cozy place in UWS, perfect for having dinner but tends to be a bit loud. We went for pizzas and they were good, the only thing that got us short was that they only accept cash. Staff should warn that in advance!

I got the Tagliatelle Con Gamberi, Verza E Pecorino. The meal was amazing, service was amazing and the owner came out and talked with us. We are from Utah and while in NYC wanted an authentic Italian food experience. Overall great, just know they only take , but there is an ATM in the restaurant. Will definately be going back.

Authentic and real Italian Food on the Upper West Side. Celeste is a gem because not only the food is delicious with a variety of meals. Pizzas are yummy and guess what they have the option gluten free. Pasta is wonderful. Plus, they have a large selection of wines by the glass which is rare in the city! Service is great and it’s very cosy! Prices are affordable. We have made it our new hotspot! Highly recommended.
