I chose the a la carte menu and enjoyed the samosas. the next two courses, dal and tandoori, were not good. the dal was suppe and not delicious. the tandoori was hard; overboiled, required chew and chew and chew. what was it about? was the food warmed up in the previous night? during my lunch the restaurant sat a family (a father and 3 children) only the father ordered from basera. he had bought pizzas from another restaurant in the neighbourhood and made the pizzas to eat them. the children played videos on their handys, without ears, on loud, during their meal. this was disturbing and ruined everything I enjoyed about my culinary experience. the next day I stopped between 3-4 on the afternoon to pick up my credit card that the server had not returned to me on the afternoon. it was a shocking sight: all the banquets were filled with sleepers. So when they dine in basera bistro and sit on one of these banquets, image personnel who sleep where they sit; really a fraudulent image. as a footnote: the restaurant called amex and told them that my card was lost, which led to it being broken off instead of using my contact data that are available via opentable. many thanks, basera bistro. that's a big annoying. I'm staying in midtown. I will never return to this restaurant. I would suggest if they consider this restaurant, they think again.
Food was good. Drinks were ok. Not blown away, but definitely yummy Indian food. Typical entree and Naan sizes (though a bit more expensive Naan for what you get compared to other places... . The cocktails could definitely use some updates. Very nice staff!
We went there for lunch while visiting NYC. The waitress/ Hostess was very friendly, efficient and fun. The menu offered many preparations for vegetarian and the usual protein options and everything was delicious.
Food, staff, and service was OUTSTANDING!!! My go to spot when I'm in the neighborhood and want some Indian food...the variety is plentiful as well.
Looking for a late night (post theatre) restaurant, I looked on Trip Advisor and this restaurant jumped out. The modest environment was clean and the service was very attentive. Our waitress what charming and very friendly which we enjoyed. The food was really quite good we loved the garlic filled naan, especially. I like things really spicy and requested hot which came out more moderate but, that was OK given that I was happy with the balance of the experience. Portions were moderate and very good price point. We were all pleased with our meals and was a perfect place for a late night bite.
