Bidra med feedbackWe ate at the 1555 2nd Avenue location. We had an early (5:30'ish reservation so we could make a 7:30 show on Broadway. It was a little tricky to find; we only saw a small A-frame sidwalk sign. We were seated promptly; the staff was very friendly and professional. We enjoyed the calamari, the cavatelli with the mushroom ragu (delicious! , the rigatoni with the Sunday Sauce (the reason we chose this restaurant and the Chicken Parmigiana. We enjoyed a fried dough dessert (like donut holes with chocolate sauce which was not on the menu but was highly recommended by our server. We enjoyed a leisurey but attentive service; when we asked for our check and mentioned the show, our server delivered the check and processed the payment promptly even though the restaurant had gotten busier. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I can't speak for the food but we arrived 20 mins before our reservation to have some drinks at the bar. After 20 mins the bartender had not said a word to us. We decided to leave and not eat here based on the poor service at the bar. Yes it was a busy night but the blonde behind the bar was not moving quickly at all. She didn't seem to care at all.
This was the best place we ate during our trip.... so delicious. We started with a glass of wine and Mushroom Arancini which was awesome! Then we both tried a special pasta and sauce both of which were delicious. I think any combination works be great. The freshness of the pasta and friendliness of the staff made this a highlight of our visit.
We went to the restaurant during the San Gennaro festival to celebrate my husband's birthday. The menu was limited due to the festival so the selections weren't as great as usual. We started with the Cesar salad which was just ok. For drinks we each had red sangria. Delicious! For our entrees I had the cavatelli with broken meatballs and my husband had the rigatoni also with the broken meatballs. The homemade pasta and sauce were excellent. I will definitely go back but at a less busy time.
AMAZING HOMEMADE PASTA with your choice of spaghetti and sauce, and not to mention the Aunt Jake Cocktail... everything was perfect food-wise, except for the fact that we were kept being interrupted literally every 15 minutes by the waitresses asking us how we are doing and if we need anything else, we get that they are just trying to do their job but it's too much, and sometimes you can use some common sense when you see someone was having a good time talking and you don't interrupt them? Also, they charged our cards twice the double price by mistake, and it's going to take 5 business days to reimburse...Generally, I would say the staffs needs more training and common sense.
