Bidra med feedbackFood is good service can be sketchy the restaurant is small and they always have very loud music playing so if it's not your taste you will not enjoy it because it's quite loud. Food is always very fresh
We had to visit New West for some important matter and we had a quick meal here. It was pretty good and the price is reasonable. The place looks nice and very decent. A must try when youa rein New Westminster.
Sushi is good but it is the most expensive sushi place in the area. Bento boxes are fresh. And tempura is good but all menu items are pricey.
Few days ago we were in uptown New Westminster for shopping. Since it was around dinner time we decided to find a nice restaurant for a meal that would be not so heavy. We decided to go to “Hi Dozo”, a small Japanese restaurant close to the Royal Mall. The service was friendly and the servers very attentive. We ordered Salmon Sashimi, Chicken Teriyaki and Pig Fire Roll. For some reason, they delivered Tuna Sashimi instead of the Salmon Sashimi, saying that we have ordered that (but I am sure, we didn’t since my friend liked Salmon Sashimi only). Nevertheless, we took the served Tuna Sashimi. And we were impressed by the good quality of it. The chicken teriyaki tasted good. The Pig Fire Roll was also ok; the prawn tempura in it was prepared fresh. But I found the price for the Pig Fire Roll not justified: The diameter of the roll was quite small and one can get other rolls with the same number of pieces for half the price.3.5 out of 5
Hi Dozo is a MUST try. The staff are amazingly friendly, make great recommendations, hours are great, prices reasonable for the sushi, and entrees. The environment is clean and welcoming. And the Food ... It will not disappoint. The sushi is so fresh and the rice rolled tight and thin so you don't feel heavy afterwards. It is plated beautifully and will have you wanting to gorge it and savour it at the same time! I have tried a variety of sushi, appetizers, and an entree to get a feel for consistency and never have they erred on taste, playing, or service... Which is rare in my books for sushi. Kudos to the chefs and staff at hi Dozo , I have been back and will continue to return.
