Bidra med feedbackAte here for the first time. The food was very fresh and tasty. A special shout out to the specialty tea they had on the rotating menu. I had the one with ginger and honey over ice and it was delicious! Service and ambience were very nice. Pro Tip: If you have a bag, stroller or anything heavy The restaurant can be accessed from the 1/F landing that is serviced by an elevator. I didn't see this entrance until I lugged my bag up the stairs!
Wow! This place Rocks. Just like the last review, the Stone Pot Rice is very good. I ordered the one with Eel in it. I also got the pan fried Makerel. It was ok, but I would get the stone pot rice every time and just the Pot itself was enough to fill me up without the Makerel too. I eat a lot, so it's interesting that I could get out of here for 100 HKD and be full, but that's the truth!
I've never been a fan of Korean food. If I wanted a rice dish I'd get Thai or go local, if I wanted a noodle or soup dish I'd get Japanese. Living in Asia it's difficult to not try the cuisines of your continent so I've tried Korean here and there but have never been totally impressed. One day in Discovery Bay while I'm trying to ignore the barks and cries I walk towards Ebenezer's. I can't remember why but at the time it was closed, probably renovations or something. I remember being upset because I was looking forward to a kebab, spicy. Next door First Korean had recently opened and was offering a very affordable lunch set and knowing that anywhere else on Disco Bay I had to shell out over $100 for lunch. I ignored the voice in the back of my head warning me against trying Korean again. I can't tell you how many times I've been back for the same $65 Stone Pot Rice dish, enough for the waiters to know my order before I sit down. When I'm not sure what to eat Stone Pot Rice, too lazy to cook Stone Pot Rice, Hmmm should I try something else? No Stone Pot Rice. That's a lie. I've tried a couple other dishes and they weren't bad; Sweet and sour chicken with rice, and sizzling beef and enoki mushrooms with rice. The chicken dish would be great save for the bones in each and every little morsel making it more of a mission than an enjoying experience. The sizzling beef is good, no complaints on this dish. But when compared to the Stone Pot Rice, it's crispy rice and tradition Korean sauce there's simply no question. Even listening to the same ten songs on repeat for the past three months hasn't stopped me from returning in fact I think it's helping me learn to speak Korean.
This HK based restaurant offers authentic Korean food. Seafood noodle is the best. If you consume 100HKD or more and can get a free ferry ticket.
