Too many good restaurants in New Orleans with incomparable food and service experiences to waste time in just an OK restaurant, I think the restaurant lives on its location and before reputation, but I don't see a good reason to keep it on my list of places I want in NOLA dine
Was a favorite at a time, my wife treated me for a birthday dinner at The Rib Room. I was a little disappointed at the food. Sitting was quick and warm, and our server was attentive and friendly. I ordered the 16 ounce primary nativity, which, when I served, was to my assessment a 10 ounce proportion best, badly marbled, the pig buckle of my wife was coarsely boiled and carburized. The wine was overpriced, five times the retail value. The dessert was overwhelming. I won't return. I've never submitted a bad food review, but I'd be left behind if I didn't weigh in this restaurant. I'm not going back.
Book a reservation for a birthday dinner at 3/8 at 8 pm. We arrived on time, but were not greeted by anyone for almost 15 minutes, although there were employees nearby. As soon as we got to our table, we waited another 10 minutes to put our drinks orders. An additional 15 minutes to meet the table in appetizers, made from a cup of soup and the pig bell that took again w long time. We waited about 30 minutes until our Entrees met the table. Overall, the service was very disappointing one of the worst I experienced in High. Part of the reason was that we sat in a room with a very large group that took about 6 tables and it seemed to be overlooked. The food quality was good. Our visit ended over 2 hours due to the delays in service.
I've been going to the Rib Room for many years. This visit was under par. They have booked a party of 38 and a party of 14 at the same time. We were a party of two. Our server took our order, delivered the food and we never saw it again. We had to try to get the attention of other employees when we need something. The main rib, which is now much overpriced, was unfortunately a bit hard and chewing and very fat. It was very disappointing. They need to do better because they have a great relief in an ideal location. Someone has to run the room.
Great food and atmosphere. Our server Jeremy was excellent. Quire pricey but for a special occasion it was still steep. But would go again.
