The Blind Pelican - New Orleans

Destination bar for happy hours oysters (4-8P.M daily, $3/dice with a buy of alcohol) and sports observation. server are very friendly, and the space itself is beneficial to watching what great game they are with many screens and inexpensive alcohol.

Happy hour daily from 4 to 8pm. Only applies with purchase of adult beverage though. Oysters are good. Service needs to improve though. I had an incident where I left my credit card inadvertently behind, in the check wallet. Retrieving it was a big effort, management claimed they were too busy.

I was excited to go back to the Blind Pelican from the last trip I took to Nola. I found it originally because the owner of the restaurant also owned the house I rented during the past trip there. I loved their hippy journey and oysters. However, I was sorely disappointed that they did not allow us to order any additional oysters after the first batch came out even though we were drinking and had ordered additional food. (I think the rules said something of at least one alcoholic drink needs to be ordered per oyster plate. The waitress blamed it on running out of oysters but it was a Tuesday night and newly seated tables were ordering them without question. So it was a very disappointing visit this go 'round.

Happy Hour 4-8 ... 25 cent oysters.. can't beat the atmosphere here with several palm trees and ferns with great outside seating. But the owner gets really drunk everytime I see him and he spills oyster juice on customers and is kinda mean to his staff so it's just uncomfortable for everyone...

After waiting a hour for raw oysters, it took an additional 15 for everything else to get out, only to find out a order wasn't placed, and food was cold. After confronting the waiter, she didn't apologize. She was being confrontational and defensive. We got a check for 215 dollars, the waiter had the audacity to tag on a 20% gratuity. It's safe to say well never set a foot in this place again. Say hello to your six new 1 star review.
