Sassafras - New Orleans

I loved this place especially for fried seafood. the last time was terrible. it was Sunday brunch, I had family in the city, and I decided to bring them to sassafras. terrible decision. look, we are simple, far from the table of the girls who sat with them for an hour then leave without paying for terrible service. the worst thing is that they leave their customers in the dark. we waited for two hours for our food! I never heard of it. eating was cold because they wanted to wait for everyone to eat. at last the seafood was not good. nothing I remembered. please do it better. but it doesn't play a role for me because I won't be back. Oh no I have more, they do not take the online reservations from this page. So they screamed with their busy self to the hostess, because she could honor it, but still this was more drama than this poor woman could handle alone. please do not provide high school children who cannot deal with big tables, especially when we ask how where are my drinks / food? this is all! and the nerve of you to have not alcoholic drinks to calm our care! I have more to say the more I have this, but I am tired now so ima store it another evaluation page. bye sassafras!

Terrible. I have booked over a week on open table or maybe even two in advance. chose it because it had great reviews for eating! but when we were there, there was no one on the stand of the hostess. there were 8 people who had come before us, had not been helped yet. the phone at the stand of the hostess ringed from the hook. after that stand there 10 minutes and older dame came up and began to ask people to help. she told them it would be 30 minutes to sit. the place was not so full. so that they have to be understaffed....then I told her I had made a reservation a week ago and the dame didn't even know what was open table, said she knew nothing about reservations and that it would wait for more than 30 minutes. we wanted to come to an event at a certain time, so we couldn't wait long. in the speed that went, we would probably have been at least two hours or more there, depending on how long it took to get out. so it was very disappointing as we look forward to eating. online it had great reviews for eating, but bad reviews for service and eating waiting time. I see that now. Unfortunately, we will probably never go back there to even try. the others are waiting.

Decent menu, the food (with one exception) was good. The one exception was my burger which I ordered very rare . It came well done (no pink at all) and, thus, quite dry. Since, as a group, we were on vacation and having a good time I kept my mouth shut about it. Everyone else said their meals were good so it wasn 't a completely wasted time. The waitress, while polite, wasn 't the most attentive and didn 't keep track of our needs well at all. The service picked up towards the end but it wasn 't enough to salvage her tip.

Restuarant had no notice that I had made a reservation online. they seemed confused when I told them that. it took an hour to sit because of the crowd, but I was always told that I would be the next place and people still sit in front of me without reservation. that was amazing.
