Redux - New Orleans

I have found my new favorite dive bar in New Orleans. The service is excellent and the wings are amazing. The jukebox has all the classic songs and the atmosphere is as welcoming as it gets for a bar in this city. You come for the food, but you stay for the people.

This small, lively dive bar/restaurant in the Bywater neighborhood is a fun spot to visit. Damian, the bartender, may get easily distracted but he's a great time to be around. The service is worth mentioning, especially since you're in New Orleans. Take it easy, enjoy yourself, and try the food! We tried the chicken cheesesteak and loved it so much we ordered another one. Our friends couldn't stop talking about how good the burger was. The fries could use a little improvement, but they'll get there.

This restaurant has a great bar and amazing food, but what really sets it apart is the incredible staff. Whether I'm in the mood for a fun night out or looking to unwind after a tough day at work, redux is always my top choice.

We hit up Bar Redux for our first NO dining experience because they had vegan and non vegan options and were open late. They are a dive bar in By Water with a small kitchen. I echo the statements the other reviewer made. The owner’s son, the bartender, was very knowledgeable about vegan options and helped me order. The owner, Janya, was determined to make my vegan veggie cheesesteak the best she could and it was great. She took a lot of care in preparing our food. The bread, the veggies, simple but very tasty. Their fries are amazing they’re hand cut! After we ate Janya gathered the locals at the bar and gave us a list of restaurants with vegan options in NOLA. Her hospitality was top notch. Totally recommend stopping in here even if only to have a beer and hang out. I didn’t give 5 stars because there weren’t a lot of vegan options. Would have loved some tofu!

Kitchen is open till 1am, the couple who own it are overly accommodating, their son is the chatty bartender and last time i was in we had a 20 min conversation about what was good in the kitchen and how it should/would be prepared all prompted by Janya (owner/short order cook. She was determined to make our experience something to write home about. Very sweet. Couldn’t give it 5 stars because not 100% vegetarian but if you are out in the Bywater at night an want a drink and vegan nosh....head over to Bar Redux on Poland!
