Bidra med feedbackYou never expect what is behind that door.I went to this restaurant a few years ago, when it just opened, back then it was really just an (overpriced) alternative speak-easy with a nice courtyard. To give an example, they had canned fish on the menu, which is exactly what you expect. I wasn't really planning on going back here, but after hearing so many wonderful stories, I had to give them a second chance, and I'm glad I did. The food was amazing, the courtyard and inside were even more beautiful than before, and the service was still as fabulous. The only thing they have left from their old menu is the $1 boiled egg, which I think is funny. The food prices are very reasonable, $8 for a side and $16 for an appetizer. With the wine, you have to be a bit more careful not accidentally ordering a $600+ bottle of wine. But they definitely have a nice selection, but expect to spend at least $100 on a bottle of wine. All together, a beautiful experience, I'll definitely keep going back here.Tip: It is not recommended to park here. Besides limited options, the neighborhood is also known for car burglaries. Safe yourself the trouble, It's better to take a cab, Lyft or Uber.Parking: It is not recommended to park here. Je t’aime! The discreet location begins the allure for N7. There is no other place than New Orleans where an old tire shop can be transfused into the most romantic spot in the South! Travel down the menu to a sensuous selection of French Japanese infused flavors and aroma to fill the senses. The fairy lights along with the harmony of eclecticism will delight in any one of the 3 seating areas. (Weather Permitting). Know your in a fantasy stage set at all times and be sure to leave with your armore, Je t’aime! And as always in New Orleans bon temp rouler!!!
Our dinner began lovely, Atmosphere is romantic, our small plates were tasty, wine also good. Ordered the steak after the server explained it was a tender piece and cooked to perfection. It was not. Quite the opposite actually. Not my fault but I'm paying for it and basically leaving with a stomach partially full of potatoes only. My boyfriend enjoyed his duck but wow the staff do not care about their customers. Their cut of meat and the way it was prepared was absolutely awful. It was stringy, chewy and the flavor of the meat was just kinda gross, like they tried to save a bad cut of meat with a ton of peppercorns, ugh! Disappointing. Anyhow later and gonna have to figure out what to eat.Just shows they don't care, word of advice, if you do go here, do not get the steak!!!
Perfect place for a romantic dinner. The ambiance was quaint and quiet. Lots of fresh plants decorating the space ambient lighting. The food was elevated French food. Very good and unique options. This restaurant had the largest wine menus I’ve ever seen!
5/5 ambiance 2/5 service 2/5 foodWhen we arrived for an 8:45pm reservation the outdoor patio was mostly empty. We asked to be seated under the covered pergola area and we're told it wasn't available. Totally fine. Things got really weird after we were seated when the hostess came to our table and apologized for seating walk-in guests after us. Had she not said anything we would have assumed it was a pre set reservation. Following that the server told us they had a fish special. I asked what it was. She said it was a mahi. Great. I asked how it was prepared. She said grilled. Good grief. Management needs to train their staff. Our sommelier was engaging and great. 1/5 Bread service 1/5 beet salad (too acidic, to Smokey, not balanced flavors)5/5 French onion soup. They nailed this. I would just order it and sit outside. 2/5 Bibb salad. Ginger carrot dressing wasn't great. I always finish a salad. We let this one go3/5 steak au poivre was pretty tasty. Cooked well. A tad salty. Overall this was a really strange dining experience that was punctuated with attentive but uniformed servers. Idk
