Bywater Bakery - New Orleans

I held by bywater bakery first thing on a Friday morning as I had read about her bagels on her website and wanted to make sure that I got some! when I arrived, I was told that they did not make any bagels during the king cake season, which is understandable, is disappointing, especially because the bagels are advertised on their website, and there is nothing on this side, which is that the case. as a visitor in new orleans, this (king cake season is not something I was aware of, such a notiz on the website would have been very helpful! definitely I decided to buy a piece king cake (they had a vegan option as well as the tofu scramble. The Tofu Scrambble is served over grotten, which was a first for me (I am from the northeast, but was surprisingly good! the queen cakes were delicious and now I'm trying to go back and buy a whole cake. overall they have some nice options. the personal is friendly and clear were cuddling and hard to work. it was clear from the line (six men's deep right when they opened that this is a fixed point in this neighboring and community; I can understand why!

I really like this restaurant; it has a fantastic and welcoming atmosphere. My daughter tried the vegan strawberry pineapple scone and found it to be too sweet with not enough fruit flavor. I ordered the grits, egg, and cheese, which was basic but delicious. I was surprised to see it served in a coffee cup, all mixed together. So, if you prefer your food not to touch, be aware. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would come back. I would give it 3 1/2 stars if I could.

Unfortunately, I was informed that they do not make bagels during King Cake Season, which was a bit disappointing as it was not specified on their website. As a tourist in New Orleans, I was not aware of King Cake Season. However, I decided to try their King Cake slice and tofu scramble. The tofu scramble served over grits was a pleasant surprise for me, being from the Northeast. The King Cake was delicious and now I am tempted to return for a whole cake. Overall, they offer nice options and the friendly staff seemed to be working hard. The long line of customers right when they opened confirmed that this bakery is a beloved fixture in the neighborhood and community. I can see why!

Good coffee, great pastries, friendly service. We will go back next time we're in town.

We used bywater bakery for serving cakes at our wedding and got so many compliments. The cake tasting might have been my favorite part of wedding planning, there are so many fantastic options. Thank you for being such an important and delicious part of our wedding festivities!
