Bourbon House - New Orleans

Steak was over cooked, and they gave us free dessert. a manager never came to the table, they were also from three of the bourbons we ordered.

It was my birthday and we celebrated it in new orleans. we have selected bourbon house based on online reviews and menus. as soon as we showed up for our reservation, we sat timely, but honestly, the low-rated rating is mostly for eating. it was just missing. we ordered char broiled oysters, muffalata flatbread and a few burgers. the appetizers were so inconspicuous, I didn't even eat my burger. the waitress and the manager were nice and came over again and again and wondered if the food was “ok” because they had seen that I had not touched my burger. I felt a little uncomfortable by the situation and did not want to be rude, so I just told them it was good and I was full. my man is also a really nice person and didn't want to hurt anyone, but I could say he had a hard time to get it. we couldn't wait to get back to the hotel room so we could rest and go later. spent $100 in the night in the bourbon house, and ended with $40 later on a few drinks and burger somewhere else, that was wayyy better tasting! only my personal opinion. it can work for some people, but it didn't work for me. Last comment. it took 45 minutes to get two burgers out. that was also a bit unpleasant.

The only reason I am not giving 5 stars for food is that the portion of the main dish was “elegantly” small. A pasta dish is not an expensive dish to prepare so at least covering the bottom of the plate would be appreciated!

My daughter and I visited Bourbon House twice during our recent NOLA trip. It was the only restaurant we went back to a second time. The food/drinks were delicious and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely go back on my next visit. Thank you!

Ren was a fabulous server! The food was delicious, the round table was perfect for our conversation.
