Cross Sound Ferry - New London

I have been disappointed with the recent price increases for travel on base and full fare tickets at this restaurant. They do not seem to offer discounted rates for members during slower travel times, and I have not seen any improvements to justify the price hikes. While I enjoy traveling on the ferry and have always had pleasant experiences, it is frustrating to see such frequent price increases. This could be a major deterrent for loyal customers like myself who rely on this ferry for frequent travel. It is important for the restaurant to consider how these changes impact their regular customers.

THE WORST FERRY COMPANY! Traveled on many ferries over many years. Went to New England from Orient Point with a reservation on a Friday evening. Got to the ferry terminal approx. 45 minutes before departure and was one of the very first on line. While loading I was directed to have my passenger get out of the vehicle and the deck hand folded in my passenger mirror. My full size SUV was directed up to the outer mezzanine on the Susan Anne. The deck hand was guiding me and I caught the railing on the drivers side causing damage to my bumper. I could not see my right side due to my mirror being folded and was very close on that side. The deck hand saw it and did not even say anything. Once parked I had to climb over my door just to get out of my vehicle. I'm a small person! Another deck hand said that they SHOULD NOT have been directing large SUV's up on the outer mezzanine as it was too tight for those vehicles. Made me fill out an accident report and said they would contact me in a about a week Fast forward 6 1/2 weeks later manager calls me and says they will do nothing and to put it through my insurance DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND USE THE OTHER FERRY COMPANY IN BRIDGEPORT. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN TIME AND THEY ARE MUCH MORE PROFESSIONAL! They have permanently lost a regular customer and I will make sure that I recommend everyone I know to NOT use this service.

We decided to hop on the ferry to Essy without making a reservation. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The ferry ride lasted about an hour and 20 minutes, but there was plenty of space to enjoy a proper meal on board for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They offer a variety of tasty sandwiches, pastries, and other dishes. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

On-time and efficient, eating on the ferry is great too! Very relaxing cruise to Orient Point, NY. Gotta see a nice sun on the way to NY.

Very accomodating, and everyone is so helpful and polite! I travel to New England several times a month from long island, and would highly recommend trying the Cross Sound Ferry. It may add a bit of time to the trip, but no city/I95 traffic and if you time it right there are some beautiful views. Not to mention good food, and a relaxing trip.
