Whalley Pizza - New Haven

The shrimp, with rice, peppers, onions, tomatoes is so good and for the price they give you a decent amount. I even asked for them to make it spicy and they did.

56 years ago I was a senior at Southern Ct. State College, now a university. A friend and I took a two-hour drive to New Haven on a very rainy Saturday, specifically so I could see how the campus has grown and to unlock some fond memories. During my time as a college student, Al's Burgers occupied the building now home to Whalley's Pizza, and a roommate and I lived in a small apartment over an insurance office across the street. While nostalgia may have coaxed us to have lunch at Whalley's, it was one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. My friend very much enjoyed her meatball sandwich, and I enjoyed the chicken with peppers, tomatoes, and onions over white rice. Although my lunch may not have been one of Al's juicy burgers from my senior year in 1967, and the insurance building has long since been torn down, I couldn't get over how delicious my lunch turned out to be! I ate about a third of the heaping portion brought to the table and happily brought home the rest... enough for two more meals. Tasty, hot, plentiful food, reasonable prices, a delightful server, and memories from a lifetime ago all served up in a friendly atmosphere. Really a wonderful experience. I can easily see another day trip to Whalley's.

Whalley Pizza has been feeding the locals and tourists from out of town for over a decade the food is fresh hot and clean,the take out and calling to place a order is very efficient and the counter help treats the customers like family if you haven't had the chicken and rice or Grill chicken salad also pizza pies from Whalley Pizza you do not know what you missing out on,what are you waiting for call now or walk in today your mouth and appetite will not be disappointed!
