Villa Lulu - New Haven

We had a good experience at Villa Lulu. My squid ink pasta was delicious and fresh. My husband enjoyed his lobster ravioli. The best part of the night was our server Asim who was very courteous and attentive.

The service was tremendous! We had reservations and were promptly seated. Our server asked if we were seeing the show at the theatre across the street from the restaurant. We said yes and he told us that we were his number one priority and that he would have us served and out in plenty of time for the show. Without rushing our meal at all, and with plenty of time to relax with coffee and desert, we arrived at the show with time to spare! Asim was our server, and we will ask for him the next time we have dinner at Villa Lulu!

It would be nice to have grated cheese and extra bread offered when the entrees arrive. We had to wait to get someone's attention to request this and our meals were cooling off during our wait. In such a nice restaurant you expect great service. I don't think there were enough waiters on that night, which could explain the problem.

Excellent meal; the Branzino was delicious and perfectly cooked. Nick is an exceptional waiter : friendly, polite, efficient and made us feel comfortable and welcomed. He is the perfect waiter!

First time there. Had the lamb shank special that was very good. Our waiter was OK. Seemed like his mind was elsewhere. We ordered a rose wine and got red. But we drank it. Then twice he brought the people next to us dinner bill.
