Sea Fishing - New Forest

Placed order for collection over the phone and was asked if I wanted salt and vinegar..... No I said. Arrived to collect and was asked again if I wanted salt and vinegar..... No I said again. Got home and, you guessed it, the fish and chips was smothered in salt and vinegar. It was inedible so it went straight in the bin.

The fish was hot and appeared freshly cooked but was totally tasteless and lacking moisture or any texture. It also had an unappetising smell. The chips were barely warm and undercooked. We said yes to salt and vinegar. Neither of us could taste any vinegar but the salt was so overdone that the meal became inedible. We may have been unlucky but we will not be making a return trip.

We have visited here before for fish and chips and we have never been disappointed, excellent value for money, good friendly service, and the fish and chips have always been amazing so fresh and will control use their services. I would highly recommend this shop

There are two chip shops nearer to me, but I drove to this one as I’ve always rated it. However tonight their chips were a soggy mess. Very disappointing. The fish was ok. Once you’re home you don’t want to go back and complain. I won’t return.

We were late going out and decided on a drink at the Wash House We noticed a couple tucking in to Fish and Chips and were told we could fetch them from Tres Bon and eat them in the bar The Fish and Chips scored 10/10 with all 4 of us eating
