Bidra med feedbackWe needed a place to stop before there was time for my 16 month old daughter's nap time, so we decided to give the cafe an attempt. The waitress couldn't have been more friendly. The food was good and arrived right away. The menu was large and there was even a small salad bar. There was a smoker zone, but we had no problems with the smell of smoke. Above all, no one seemed to disturb me that my little girl walks around and her legs stretched out after a long drive! I'm glad we found this place! It was so much better than McDonalds!! If we were back in the area, we'd stop here again! Thank you for a great meal on the street and welcome us with smile and excellent service!
This place is always the best they have a great service. It's as brilliant as they make it so fast.
Wow, what a diamond in the Rough. I drove my car-squareland last week and went to McDonald's for bites to eat. I saw this non-describing, somewhat decaying building behind the McDonald 's, painted with only the word cafe on the outside (worn color, on it). Nevertheless, there were many cars parked around the building, so I decided to be adventurous and to check it. Inside it was almost like coming back in time. It looked like a cross between an old cafeteria and dance hall. Decor was economical or not existent. The restaurant 's Klientel skeweded in the direction of medieval farmers in jeans, coversalls and baseball caps. The waiting staff consisted of older women, polite and capable. There were plenty of seats, so I sat at a table by one of the walls, and was briefly greeted by a waitress who had to be at least in her 60s if not 70s. They serve all day like this, even if it was lunch, I ordered the Full Western Omelet with hash-browns, a biscuit and iced tea. The tea arrived quickly and the food arrived about 10 minutes later. It was worth waiting. Wow, I've never seen a cookie before. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she said they did it there (homemade). It was delicious. And the ash-browns tasted fresh (not frozen), and were cooked to perfection, perhaps the best I ever had. And the Omelet was also perfectly cooked and was delicious. Knowing I would write such a review, I asked the waitress in the register whether there was a menu or a business card I could take. She said no, but here, take your receipt. It has everything you need above. Only then did I know the full name of the restaurant. The ambience is definitely low key, but the food is fantastic and very affordable! My whole meal, including taxes, was $8.29. What a find! So glad I wanted to share McDonald's next door.
Great truck stop. The best truck stop I've had so far. Had the land fried steak, which was great. 90% of the menu is under 10 dollars, and each Entrée is guaranteed to fill you. To round it off, people are as friendly as they can get.
The staff were all very friendly. The service was quick and efficient. If you are too pretentious to step foot in a truck stop, you probably should skip this place. However if you want good home made food, this is a great place right off I-70. I wouldn’t make a special trip out of St. Louis to try it, but it will be on my list of quality food along the interstate.
