Bidra med feedbackWe arrived at about 4:30 p.m. on a Saturday evening. Our party of 4 each had a different entree. I had the chicken fried rib-eye steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, my wife had the Lobster Bisque, my friend had a medium order of fried Shrimp, and I didn't hear what his wife ordered. The portions were ample and quite tasty. While the vast majority of the rib-eye was very tender, there were a few spots of gristle which would not have surprised me with ordinary chicken fried steak, but could have been cut out or cut off without the remaining portion of steak seeming skimpy. Warning to the lactose intolerant, the lobster bisque is prepared with real milk, but my wife didn't get past *lobster bisque*, and should have read the full description of the dish. Our server is probably in the top 1% of wait staff in this area, at least. Attentive, intelligent and able to be assertive without being at all unpleasant, I will look for her when we return to McAdoo's.
Great atmosphere and outstanding seafood! This was our first visit to McAdoos and we were very happy we chose it for our anniversary dinner. We have had several of our friends recommend it to us. We sat on the patio and the weather was nice for outdoor dining. The old post office building gives the place an overall vibe of historic charm. The bar area was well done as well. The food was really good and plated beautifully. I had the Redfish Pontchartrain and my wife had fried shrimp. The house made Key Lime Pie for dessert was a great finish to our meal. Our server was top notch. She was very helpful and attentive throughout our dining experience. We will definitely be back again.
Today was our first time here. We had lunch. It was only a few minutes to be seated. We had the charbroiled oysters as an appetizer. I ordered the pick three; caesar salad, fried shrimp and crab cake slider. My husband had the large seafood platter. Everything was good, the service was excellent. The portions were generous. Beautiful atmosphere. We will be returning, next time in the evening.
Excellent food, nice atmosphere and great service. I had blackened trout with lobster bisque, nicely prepared and presented. Both were amazing! The flash fried spinach was to die for and the crab cakes were delicious! The only negative was the noise level. Being in the former post office building, sound carries well making it very loud inside. Still, I recommend this restaurant based on the food quality and preparation. Plus I?ve added a picture of my cat. She didn?t come with us but she would have approved.
The building, the atmosphere, the service and the food...all top notch. We were impressed with this seafood restaurant located in the heart of New Braunfels. We enjoyed the bread butter, seafood gumbo, Mahi and the fried shrimp oysters. Happy hour specials at the bar were pretty good as well.
