Bidra med feedbackThis Scuttlebutt outpost (there is one in padanaram) is towed in the jansal Valley/Sid Wainer market (so they are not destroyed if they don't see much signage). we have learned that the menu changes weekly: we had an aubergine sandwich, nudelsalat and green salad. each product was delicious, inexpensive and quickly prepared. I highly recommend stopping at breakfast or lunch when they were in the opposite (as we were). we are looking forward to returning and enjoying what is on the menu at the next visit!
Oct 2020 visit...loved Scuttlebutt during a quick visit through New Bedford. What matters most to me about a coffee shop is of course the coffee, followed by staff and ambiance. Sadly during COVID, most shops are pretty low on ambiance, especially shops like Scuttlebutt that are carry out only, but coffee and staff wise, they hit a home run! We were greeted by a lovely staff member who took the order and the coffee was perfect. I had a latte with a touch of raw sugar, and the taste was spot on. Scuttlebutt is definitely on my revisit in normal times list!
The best latte I’ve had anywhere in southeastern MA. Try their oat milk latte if you’ve never had one before. Also, they are always keeping it fresh and experimenting with new pastries and foods. All of them are delicious and inventive!
This local coffee joint is the best new thing to come to New Bedford. I am a cofffee snob from LA (yes I know I already sound like the worst) but I would always find myself missing some high quality cup of joe when I would come back during the summer. Scuttlebutt has become my new staple when I come back east. Even my parents, both of whom will settle with diner coffee being top notch, agree scuttlebutt is miles and miles above. The coffee is bold, rich and the staff is friendly and considerate. Please scuttle your butt here and give this place a go! I guarantee you will enjoy the drinks, and start to become addicted to their food (which I would say also deserves its own post since we are dealing with artisanal treats made by hand!)I highly suggest an iced red eye. Also. Chocolate. Chip. Cookies. Seriously. You could be writing the next 5 star review by now.
Curried sweet potato handpie was delicious! The coffee was also on point.
