Dos Amigos - Neustadt

My friends, please don't ever go to a good Mexican restaurant somewhere in the US or elsewhere outside of Germany as you'll never enjoy Mexican food as much again in Germany. The reviews here signal that this place is bearable. Well, it is if for no other reason than it's relatively cheap. I can't vouch for anything else. I've eaten at many Mexican places in the US. Even the franchises all over the place can beat Dos Amigos in taste. Taco Bell it ain't, but this is not good Mexican food. We had the chips with guacamole and this was disgusting. I really have not had such bland, blah dip in a long time. The salsa with these chips didn't taste anything like salsa. Outside of being red, it had nothing in common with salsa to be honest. Even the chips weren't good and you can get better from Aldi. We then had the vegetarian tacos and the quesadilla with chili con carna. Wow, these dishes both were bad. You can't really screw up vegetables but they managed to be bland here. Chili also isn't too hard but they missed on this point as well. Finally, the cheese on this dish didn't even look like melted cheese. It was somewhat like plastic. Anyway, the only reason for two stars is that the service was quite nice and really did try to fullfill wishes. We were there for dinner and it wasn't too full so I can't say anything about seat availability at lunch time. Anyway, long story short, don't make an effort to come here seeking out really good Mexican food. This is not where you will find it.

Both food and cocktails were good, and the personnel was quite friendly! Of course this is not traditional Mexican food, but it was delicious nevertheless. We will definitely come here again.

Very average Mexican place. The lunch menu is a fair price, but everything I've had here tastes very much like it was recently taken out of the freezer and simply warmed through before being dumped onto your plate. Uninspiring to say the least. They also have the distinction of having, in my opinion, the worst salad dressing in the world.

Delicious food, friendly service. the reservation about the open table has not worked, but for that the restaurant can do nothing.

We liked the dos amigos very well. we had afteros with three different dives to the appetizer. the dives were very refreshing! the card has something for everyone! has tasted very good! when we come back to hamburg, then we come back!
