Alpes et Lac - Neuchâtel

The staff don't seem overly attentive, but there was a function going on. Menu prices were high enough I nearly said thanks and excused myself.

This nicely renovated hotel has a lovely restaurant spacious, wooden floor, with a lovely view to the nearby Lac de Neuchatel. The menus were unfortunately only in French but the waiter gave us an idea of the words we didn't know. Reasonable choice of...starters, mains and desserts, with local produce (fish and meats) represented. For the main course the boar (le sanglier) was delicious extremely tender and in a delicious plum sauce and accompanied by spiced plums and polenta. Steak tartare was also great. So based on those two items I'd imagine the rest of the items on the menu were similarly good. Service was prompt. Wine list was reasonable but not extensive. The kitchens close at 9.30pm beware! The price was OK for Switzerland i.e. more expensive than UK, but it was worth paying for!

The Restaurant is located in the ground floor of the hotel. Nice decoration with green and white color. The service was excellent, we tried local wine from the Canton . As dishes we had : Butternut squash cream and chestnut pumpkin, his big butter flute... Chicken with green tagliatelle. Nice presentation, and nice menu. I really recommend this restaurant

It's so pleasant to sit here that one almost doesn't care what's in the plate, but the meal (set lunch) was delicious and served with a smile. We'd even like to organise our wedding here !

I've eaten here many times and never been disappointed. Set lunch copious, reasonably priced, well-cooked and often quite imaginative in choice of ingredients, à la carte a bit fancier. Service and tableware impeccable. Great views of the lake and mountains all year round, excellent garden...dining in the summer.
