Bidra med feedbackCabin is cute and mostly clean. Bathroom is redone so it’s nice it’s new but needed another dusting, lots of cobwebs in toilet room upstairs. Also, outside should have been power washed to get rid of bird pop. Luckily we brought our own chairs. For the restaurant, the food wasn't good. Overcooked corn dogs and fries, sad salad with grilled shrimp, we had to send the shrimp back because it wasn't grilled and it came back pan fried. It was weird. Drinks were good. Nachoes, corn dog, salad, 2 lemonade, 2 adult drinks was $95 . Overpriced and server didn't give printout. Go to Topock for food it's better. Staff is friendly. Gift shop is cute .
Going to Pirate Cove was the best. The river has very fresh water and since it was so hot over there, it was worth swimming in the water. Also the cabins are awesome. Except for the fact the air conditioner wasn’t working, other than that Pirate Cove gave me and my family a fun family vacation ?
If there was a Minus 5 stars I would give the is place that rating! We checked into one of the Cabins, which I was truly pleasntly surprised how nice is was, however, I was not happy with the fact that they call this a Resort charging Resort prices and have little to no or very unaccpetable internet acess. Even more dissapointing was the restaurant-Prices, which are exhobitantly high, My wife order the Salmon steak, she received about a 4 oz portion, no vegetable, no salad, no bread -no nothing just a small piece of salmon for $29! I ordered the coconut shripm, 6 small shrimp and the sauce and that was ot $27. Don 't think we 'll be back until they do a whole lot of changing!
We arrived Fri 04/15/22 around 2pm excited for our 2 night stay. For years, we 've heard nothing but great things about this place which is why we were hesitant, but willing to pay the $500/nt (including fees taxes but not a boat slip which is a reasonable $35/day) the $500 security deposit. The staff was friendly, helpful informative. For example, we were informed that we 'd be charged $50 per towel that was left with a stain. I 've been to a lot of places in many different countries this is the first I 've ever been told that. Seems steep, but OK. We were given a map shown everything we 'd be enjoying; like the beach in front of our cabin, the bar, the restaurant, the beach across from the marina, the general store the free shuttle to get around the property. We launched the boat, parked in our assigned slip went to our 2bd/2ba with a living room, kitchen, balcony covered front patio cabin. Great layout nice furnishings. Since I 'd been put on notice about the towels, I figured I 'd better inspect the place note anything that would give them cause to not return the deposit. I discovered the base boards we ruined, a chip in the floor, paint chipped off in several places, a hole in the wall, broken window screen a window covering on the door with gaps so big on the sides which didn 't provide much privacy. It wasn 't too hot, around 90 degrees, but my friend who has a medical condition his service dog needed water so he filled the dog bowl with water from the sink sipped a few mouthfuls for himself using his cupped hand as his dog drank. Then we decided to go to the bar and/or restaurant for some food drinks cuz it was now 5pm they both close at 8pm to our surprise, but that 's our fault for not checking their hours assuming they 'd be open later. As we approached, there were signs saying the restaurant was closed so we went to the bar, ordered drinks were told the restaurant was closed due to a water pipe break so the bar didn 't have food available either so if we wanted food, we 'd have to travel across the river to Topock which also closes at 8pm. We headed back to our cabin to get keys when we noticed the beach in front of our cabin taped off. When asked, we were told it was being reserved for an all day Easter egg hunt for kids which was understandable but disappointing that we weren 't told during check-in. When we got to the cabin, there was a notice on our door warning us to boil the water before ingesting, well that was too late for my friend his dog who 'd already drank some. Upon reading the notice, dated 04/14/22, we realized Pirate 's Cove not only knew about the water problem the day before we arrived, but that it would be an issue during our entire stay up to including our departure on Sunday 04/17/22. We stopped at the office they seemed like they really wanted to make things right but then they never contacted when they said they would, I called them, reached the Mgr who knew nothing about it, she promised to call me back but never did when I tried calling them... No one answered the phone so I gave up disputed the charge with my credit card company...
Unless you throughly check the WIND don’t go!!! DANGEROUS, when discussing with staff about the possibility of our RV being rolled due to wind….”we are not responsible for acts of nature”. NO REFUND. They must be desperate for cash Bar and Grill food…..HARD PASS sadly too. We were really looking forward to this place.
