Camping Paradiso - Nea Iraklitsa

Although we didn't end up staying at the campsite, I want to report my experience... About 3 weeks ago, arriving in the area, we were looking for accommodation.. We were told by the lady at the reception (very kind and helpful) that there is only one place for a tent behind the wc. We didn't like the place at all, it seemed quite unkempt, maybe even a little dirty... we decided to leave following the instructions from the reception for the exit... As we were getting ready to go out, a jeep entered with a person inside... We stop the car and tell the gentleman who was driving How is he wrong, this is the exit of the cabin, go the other way sir... The answer was that the cabin is all mine, I am the owner... Inadmissible...

As a location, it is great. But everything else is a complete horror. Crowded with stationary caravans. The bathrooms are under all criticism. There is no hot water, dirty and unkempt. Very dusty. And for the evening noise, I have no words.

There will be no reunion. We were there late in the off-season and in November you have to be lucky to find an open campsite in GR at all. I rate that as positive. Equally positive, the friendly and helpful nature of Panagiota, which is even outstanding! And now comes the big BUT: The place was unkempt, a lot of leaves from the trees. Well, that would be a lot of work. It 's worse that garbage hasn 't been disposed of and the toilets haven 't been cleaned for weeks. Overall, the sanitary facilities are from the last millennium. Obviously, no more time and money is wasted on maintenance here. I can imagine that it 's still reasonably okay during the season if it were clean. At least the beach and the green area around the tavern look decent. The latter has already been praised by others. But, as the saying goes- There 's no second chance to make a first impression. I won 't risk a second look. PS: I had to remove a photo of the toilets in this review because it was apparently too obnoxious even for Google

Pros: beautiful beach nearby the beach bar is decent tavern is okay Cons: overcrowded almost no space for tents, only big caravans. We put our tent and few hours later came other people, who put their tent too close to ours toilets/baths could take some renovation NOISY there was a wedding when we stayed and the music was played way past midnight!

I don't know what the camping is like, but the cafeteria, the beach bar and the restaurant have only one thing in common.. Unfortunately very slow service.. Good guys and polite, but unfortunately all 3 are too late. Otherwise the sea is very nice, there is also a lifeguard on site.
