Taqueria El Ranchito

First off, CASH ONLY so grab a couple Washington's, Lincoln's, maybe a Benjy if you're like that, and hop on over.This place is AMAZING. I stumbled upon it while driving around UNTHSC, hungry for some breakfast. I got 1 bacon, 1 chorizo, and 1 ham breakfast taco. $2.50 each! Where else can you get that value?? Each taco was loaded up with eggs, cheese, and the meat of your choice on either flour or corn tortillas. I opted for flour. They give you a green and a red salsa. The green was a bright and spicy tomatillo while the red tasted kind of like vinegar/Tabasco. Both were great and lended themselves well to the tacos. I need to come back and try their lunch tacos too

Messed up order after confirming 3 times that we wanted corn tortillas. Not fresh at all. The nápales were greasy, chorizo was burnt, the pico was very overwhelming with spice it made the taco unenjoyable. DO NOT order tripa from there they were super oily with no flavor. Tasted like they gave us the left overs from last night.

Love La Playa Maya. Manager and waitstaff always so attentive and friendly.
