Bidra med feedbackMy wife and I recently had the opportunity to dine at Perky’s particularly at the bar behind the chef and oh man it was a great experience! We saw massive burgers, rib eyes, filets, chicken, and tuna steaks and honestly the lists keeps going!
Good local spot for a good quality down-home dinner meal. The Country Style Pork Ribs are boneless with a delicious sauce that tastes like a tomato brown sugar base that is sufficiently thick to stick to your ribs when you eat their ribs. The meat was tender, with a nice char, and succulent. The serving size was quite generous, allowing for some leftovers for lunch. The Grilled Chicken w/ baked potato and green beans was also a generous split chicken breast, well seasoned and cooked thoroughly while still being moist and tender. The green beans and baked potato also tasted good and were well prepared. For being remotely located and an unassuming building, this is a right busy little place. Thankfully, it has more seating inside than it appears, outside.
Amazing rack of lamb (9 bones) and grilled shrimp. Neat place, quality food, vast beer selection. Highly recommend, come early.
Sat at the bar and watched a maestro grill master at work while he engaged in conversation. Place was packed and I don't think anyone waited more than 15 minutes for their meal. And boy was it definitely worth the wait. Had the filet cooked to perfection and the spice rub he added made it superb. Although not on the menu he keeps one or two rack of lamb available upon request and that is what my wife ordered, again, cooked to perfection. If you're passing through on US29 and are unaware of this unassuming place you would probably drive right by but believe me it's definitely worth stopping in for a meal.
A very charming diner style restaurant with excellent food and service. All the staff are very friendly and the food is out of this world. I have not had a steak that good in a very long time, if ever. Very much worth the price. Glad to know we have such a fantastic restaurant in Altavista. My wife and I will be back.
