Bidra med feedbackI've been to this restaurant for a birthday lunch for a very dear nephew. The atmosphere is restful, delicious food, friendly staff available. Only neo access to the premises. There is a long enough unhealthy ramp whose gate is always closed and the opening is entrusted to a keeper who opens it to his pleasure only once a day at a time known only to him and can close and go away. On the return this ramp you must walk along it again to reach the parking space for which the elderly or disabled persons are forced to a remarkable fort. Couldn't you get away with this discomfort? He'd also buy the place.
When I was in Scampia for the carnival, I had a chance to dine at Chikù. This allowed me to know the project of social inclusion that is at the base and that makes this place a beautiful reality, in a neighborhood subject to many prejudices. Do not expect an elaborate kitchen, here the dishes are very simple and genuine like the people who work there. The evening then was revived with music and joy, with the boys who animated the carnival the next day. Come to Chikù, come to Scampia.
In the middle of Scampia set in the concrete there is this casket that opens to unusual cultural and taste perspectives. Food is good and cheap. The spaces are clean and maintained and always improving. But what strikes is the project behind this place that we cannot define only such. It is a successful experiment of female and social entrepreneurship. It is a message of hope on the feasibility of multiculturalism and interculturalism. It is a cultural center and ideas processing. It is a reference point for the neighborhood. Over the years I have seen him grow and today his staff is able to organize events outside and inside the premises, catering, collaboration with schools, business lunches, parties for adults and children, pickled. In short, it would be complicated to describe all the initiatives and goodness of food... Try to believe.
I had dinner at Chikù one night with the 25 boys from my scout group. Hospitality, cleanliness and friendliness are the three pillars of Chikù. A beautiful experience surrounded by the testimonies of those who have been working for years in the integration of the Roma population within the social fabric of Scampia. Experience to do. We'll come back.
We had a wonderful evening with the Scout boys together with Chiku's staff. A set of cultures and traditions to discover, through their stories and through the excellent food. Absolutely an experience to live.
