Rifugio Altissimo - Nago-torbole

It is not a long hike: they can park at albergo graziani and then climb less than two hours, h down. in winter it is not allowed from san valentino to albergo graziani (but many people don't care), so they can park...in san valentino (the village before coming from avio) . we did not eat in gefugio.

What a great place for a lunch break during a hike. we went from Monday to to torbole (long! and had lunch here. the view from the terrace is breathtaking. the personal is super friendly and they live what they do. we tried. the new pasta altissimo, which was very tasty. the chef came out to hear if we liked the hurry, well, we did that. it was nice!

A beautiful remote mountain hut overlooking Lake Garda. We walked hours from Festa and stayed the night at Rifugio Altissimo. We arrived hungry and quickly ate home made apple strudle and flapjacks. We paid for the half board option, for a room, dinner.. breakfast. Dinner consisted of a huge pasta course followed by pork steaks, sauerkraut, polenta and more strudle. After plenty of beers we sampled the free supply of home infused grappa, try the lemon or honey. Simple home made filling food, exactly what you need on the mountain. Excellent value and not fussy. Plus the views are spectacular.
