Great Indian Canteen - Muscat

Great food, prompt service, VFM. We ordered sweet corn soup, honey chilli cauliflower and cheese spinach roll. All of these were yummy. The cauliflower in particular, was out of the world. Phulkas were very soft and light. The coconut mousse was awesome. It is a must try dessert if you visit this place. Totally enjoyed the food and ambience. Will surely visit more often and also recommend it to friends and family.

“Burst of flavors” Situated in the heart of Gandhi Nagar, a nice and calm yellow makeover welcomes you. The place had minimalistic interiors and well done walls. The menu was exhaustive and the staffs were cordial to answer my queries on their recommendations from the menu. My pick from the starters were Paneer Tikka, Aloo Lollipop and the must mention Podi Paniyaram. The traditional Paneer Tikka was made just-right and the Aloo Lollipop made no mistake, the Podi Paniyaram was a topper. Im surely going back for some homestyle food and some refreshing welcome drinks. A one- stop restro for all your veggie food cravings. The range of foods you can try here is endless! All luck.

At Gandhi Nagar, The Great Indian Canteen, boasts of a lovely ambience and great hospitality. We were a bunch of 6 adults and 5 children. Was there as a part of my friends son’s birthday party. The starters were filled with paneer platter and kids relished it asking for more. My main course included Romali Roti and Malai Kofta. The Romali Roti was hot and soft and the yum Malai Kofta had enough sweetness and was creamy for my kids to cherish it. Next came the Vegetable Biryani and an Indo-Chinese version of paneer. Their Vegetable Biryani was spicy and had loads of veggies and struck the right cord with the paneer and raita. We also ordered a North Indian Thali which was just too big for one tummy. The Dal Makani was lovely and Paneer Butter Masala was creamy, both part of the thali. We had enough space to tuck in desserts and Gulab Jamun made its way straight through our hearts, soft and huge enough, I felt my lunch was complete. Our first experience with the great Indian Canteen was remarkable. Looking forward to explore more.

Great menu and tasty food , good ambience !! Kashmiri naan was my kid's favorite .. loved it !!
