We stopped for lunch and had 2 slices of pizza and a bottle of water each. The bill was extremely reasonable. They were doing take-out only so we ate in our car. Good New York style pizza. We look forward to returning soon for a whole pizza.
However, the pizza itself was a bit disappointing. The crust was well-cooked, but the pepperoni was quite bland. The biggest issue for us was the sauce—it was excessively sweet. While some might prefer that, we don’t typically put sugar in our spaghetti sauce either. My Grandma Marinelli would be rolling over in her grave if I messed with the family recipe that way! I still encourage everyone to give Cuzzinos a try and support them, as we will definitely explore other options on their menu.
I recently moved to the area and was craving pizza. After exploring the local options, I decided to try Cuzzino's because they offer a Mediterranean pizza, which is my favorite. Everything about my experience was outstanding, from the delicious pizza to the friendly staff. I highly recommend you visit this place right away!
I just wanted to highlight the best pizza spot in the mountains: Cuzzino's in Murphy, located across from the Kia dealership on Highway 64. Every week, I make the drive from Blueridge just to get their pizza. This past Friday, they launched a new specialty pizza available only on Fridays—it's a Taco pizza. All I can say is YUM! JR and his team have nailed it once again. I can't wait for next Friday!
